Student Health Insurance

Full-time students (12 hours or more during the fall or spring semesters) are enrolled by the university in a State of Illinois mandated health insurance plan. Students will be billed every semester for the cost of the plan. Students who can provide evidence of equal or better coverage than offered in the plan have the option of waiving this requirement prior to the beginning of each semester.

The cost of the plan for the 2007-2008 school year is $431.00 per semester. The cancellation deadline for the fall 2007 semester was August 31, 2007. The cancellation deadline for the spring 2008 semester was February 4, 2008 (extended from the previously published January 18, 2008 deadline).

NO EXCEPTIONS can be made to published deadlines!

It was announced on April 15, 2008, that the cost of the plan for the 2008-2009 school year will be $460.00 per semester. The cancellation deadlines for the fall 2008 semester and the spring 2009 semester have yet to be determined.
